San Diego has some close competition for the city with the best IPA’s. Back in 2010 El Segundo Brewing company was founded on a love of all things Hoppy. Positioned for greatness at the corner of Main and Franklin ESBC serves cold beer from their tap room every day until at least 9pm. You can enter the “underground” tap room from their door on Main St, across from Rock N Brews. Go down the stairs, around to the left, and follow the smell of musty malt past the grain bags to warehouse ceilings of the brew floor and taproom. You’ll be greeted by a pac-man table game, 2 story stainless steel fermenters, and a modest crowd of thirsty hop-heads. Make your way to the bar and check out the rotating tap list of all original beer hung proud on the north wall. White Dog, Mayberry IPA, Citra Pale Ale, and the delicious Hyperion Vanilla Stout. If you plan to stay a while feel free to bring some snacks with you or order in from El Tarasco next door. If you’re only stopping by for a minute make sure to bring your unmarked grower for 64oz to go.
